The only notion going on in everyone’s mind is, ‘as soon as lockdown gets over, I shall treat my friends to their fill’. Every shopaholic has put a hold on their credit cards, while every businessman is trying his best to keep to the tremendous competition in the market. People are just holding their horses of excitement, thoughts, and activities they have planned to do after the seemingly never-ending lockdown. While in one place we are lethargically spreading our legs on the couch binging on food and shows, the doctors, nurses, engineers, and government officials are working relentlessly towards decreasing our discomfort during these burdensome times.

We are entitled to only blame our surroundings' malaise, but what we are not aware of is that even we can take great advantage of our throbs. A cook can give our mom exceptional comfort from her daily sweats, a beautiful smile on our face can narrow down the work stress our dads go through just to meet our desires, a small “thank you” or an “I love you” said to our loved ones will make their days a zillion times better. 2020’s lockdown is a real bummer for everyone, just staying optimistic will take a load off the people who try their best to ease us even in these back-breaking times. “An idle mind is a devil’s workshop”.

The more our mind is idle it gets rusted and our brainpower capacity reduces drastically. This must be the sound that echoes in every teen’s mind because of the constant repetition of the line by our parents and it honestly hurts me to say this, but it is completely true. The more our minds are left idle, zilch for a long time they start getting rusted. SIGH, how much of a boring everyday home lecture it may sound. Lockdown has drastically changed our daily routine, mood, and habit. It is equivalently tough for the surroundings too, to cope up with the present situation and get things back on track. With every death, suffering person due to the Corona Virus, a family gets agonized.

The COVID-19 pandemic surely has made a big impact on our lives and has also taught us a great lesson about the carelessness of human nature. There are many convictions based on the virus being spread every moment, some rumours while some 'based on true events’. We see new WhatsApp forwards, Instagram stories, videos every day based on the ways to prevent COVID-19 from entering our houses, the behavioural symptoms of the corona patients in the hospitals, and so on. But only one truth and one lesson are hidden behind them and that is we must be grateful for the exceptional health and enormous safety given to us by the people who have had sleepless nights away from their loved ones just to ensure our well-being during these scary times..

Keeping ourselves safe by following simple ground rules like washing our hands from time to time, using masks outdoors, carrying sanitizers with ourselves, sanitizing our belongings, maintaining physical distance from each other outdoors and indoors we not only maintain our health but also ensure the wellbeing of the surrounding. We never ever had anticipated such a situation, but this surely is the time to show our respect, love, and dedication toward being citizens of India.
